Additional Funding for businesses

Some Bexley businesses that have been negatively impacted by the Omicron variant may be able to apply for non-repayable grants of up to £4,000.

Businesses applying for the new grant must not be eligible for the Omicron Leisure and Hospitality Grant. Applicants must also provide information about how Omicron has impacted their business.

Councillor Cafer Munur, Bexley’s Cabinet Member for Growth, said:

“Many local businesses have seen a decrease in footfall and sales as residents, quite rightly, exercised caution with the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. Businesses have had to face cancelled bookings and appointments, as well as employees being off work. This new grant will help them recover and reconnect with their customers now life is returning to normal.”

To be eligible for this grant you must be an independent, private business based in a commercial premises in the London Borough of Bexley, have fewer than 50 employees and be trading in the following sectors:

  • Personal care services – e.g. hairdressers
  • Travel and tourism
  • Events industry
  • Sports/recreation, arts, and language schools
  • Manufacturing or wholesale – food and drink and event related only

Businesses that are not business ratepayers in the following sectors may also apply:

  • Leisure – e.g. bingo, cinema
  • Hospitality – e.g. pubs, restaurants
  • Accommodation – holiday accommodation

Applications can only be submitted via an online form.
