Free public Wifi

People living, working or simply visiting the borough can now start to enjoy a fantastic new free public wi-fi service in Sidcup.

As part of an exciting programme that will be rolled out over the next few months, the Council has ‘switched on’ free public wi-fi in Erith, Welling, Sidcup and Crayford town centres.  Bexleyheath and Bexley Village will follow shortly.

Councillor Louie French, Bexley’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Growth said:

“This is an important step forward for Bexley and is part of our strategy to improve digital connectivity so that the area is well placed to take advantage of future growth. By implementing this free to use wi-fi network we are giving local people what they need wherever they are – reliable internet on the go”.

Telecoms infrastructure specialists, Ontix Ltd, are providing the service at no cost to residents or the Council.

Antony Tomlinson, Chief Executive of Ontix said “We are delighted to be providing wi-fi to the people of Bexley. Ontix is keen to deliver wireless infrastructure across the borough, including 4G and 5G, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with London Borough of Bexley.”

The network requires a one-time only registration and allows users to experience high bandwidth services free from advertisements. We are delighted that Sidcup in one of the first to receive this free service.
