New South Eastern 707 Train
Increasing capacity and delivering new rolling stock for the Metro inter-city area of our network is a key commitment in our strategic plan.
To meet this aim we have been working with South Western Railway (SWR) to take their fleet of 30 Class 707’s. Built by Siemens and leased through Angel Trains.
As more people are set return to rail in the coming months, we are getting ready to introduce the 707 into passengers service.
Beginning in the autumn the new additions will increase the amount of space available on the Metro routes from Dartford, Sevenoaks and Hayes into London terminals.
These modern, spacious, and air-conditioned trains will deliver a significant improvement in the passenger experience on the busier London lines, replacing some of the older ‘Networker’ trains.
The start of the preview service in the autumn will be followed by a full service of 30 trains later in 2022.
707 features include:
- 271 seats with plug sockets
- Free WiFi and information screens to help you on your journey
- Open interiors, space for two wheelchairs per 5-carriage train
- Air conditioning with improved heating and ventilation.
