Real Nappy Week

It is national Real Nappy Week. This year events will run over two weeks – from Earth Day 22 April to 5 May. The weeks are about raising awareness and encouraging the uptake of reusable cloth nappies as an alternative to single-use nappies.

Modern reusable nappy designs make using, washing and drying easy. There are a variety of different types available that are fast drying and just as easy to put on as a disposable nappy. The use of natural fabrics also means no superabsorbent chemicals against baby’s skin.

There are many ways parents and carers can get started with reusable nappies via incentive schemes such as the Real Nappies for London voucher scheme. Reusable nappies can also be bought new from a list of manufacturers and retailers via our website.

The London Borough of Bexley will run Real Nappy demos throughout the year with the next one taking place tomorrow at Danson Children’s Centre, Bexleyheath. The team will have a stand at the baby boot fair from 9.30-12.30. There you’ll be given all the information you need and could walk away with a free pack of reusable nappies by redeeming a real nappy voucher.
