Shortlist success for Staying Together Team

Bexley’s Staying Together Team has been shortlisted in the ‘Early Intervention’ category in the prestigious Children & Young People Now Awards 2020

The Staying Together team is a specialist crisis service, which works with children and young people aged 0-18 years old and their families or carers.

Working alongside allocated social workers, the Staying Together team use innovative ways to help parents and carers manage challenging behaviour, develop coping mechanisms, problem-solving skills and strengthen family relationships.

Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Philip Read said: “This is great news for the Staying Together team. Their work with local families in need has seen some very positive results. By thinking ‘outside the box’ they have been able to reach some of our most vulnerable young people and made a real difference. This recognition is well deserved.”

The annual Children & Young People Now Awards recognises organisations who work to improve the lives of children, young people and families. The Staying Together Team will be invited to a special virtual ceremony in March when the winners will be announced.
